PLAN-e-PSY
PLAN-e-PSY, a mobile app to support young people in their psychiatric care journey.
Psychotic episodes are common among young adults. They can lead to serious short-term consequences (suicide) and long-term consequences (social exclusion). Early, intensive, and well-coordinated care significantly improves the prognosis, but this coordination often remains complex.
Within this framework, the Vinatier Hospital and the Hospices Civils de Lyon, led by Dr. Frédéric Haesebaert, head of adult psychiatry and professor at Lyon Est University, aimed to create a mobile app to support young patients in their recovery, strengthen their engagement in therapeutic follow-up, and facilitate communication between patients and psychiatrists.
The objectives of PLAN-e-PSY, the mobile app developed by Wokine
- Modernize monitoring: transition from paper-based tracking to an interactive digital tool.
- Support care goals: enable patients to set objectives co-defined with their psychiatrist, track progress, and gradually validate them.
- Encourage engagement: offer a playful and motivating approach.
- Strengthen the patient-caregiver relationship: facilitate communication and improve mutual understanding.
- Ensure confidentiality: guarantee strict management of health data, stored locally on the patient’s smartphone.
An app focused on the patient experience
We therefore designed an app centered on the patient experience, while addressing the specific constraints of the medical environment.
- Gamification: A tree symbolizes the patient’s journey. Each fruit represents a category (well-being, daily life, social circle). The fruits grow and change color as goals are achieved.
- Step-by-step progression: Each main goal is broken down into sub-goals for gradual progress.
- Integrated calendar: Goals are linked to a calendar synchronized with the phone’s calendar, allowing clear and motivating scheduling.
- Personalized tracking: A profile lets users add key treatment information and useful contacts.
- Secure data: All information is stored locally, with export only possible at the patient’s initiative. The app works entirely offline.
Available on iOS and coming soon to the Play Store, PLAN-e-PSY represents a tangible advancement in mental health monitoring.
