Divercity
Divercity, a mobile app for a more inclusive city.
People with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD) or autism spectrum disorders (ASD) face particular challenges in public spaces: overly bright lighting, excessive noise, strong smells, crowding… These specific sensitivities sometimes make access to certain shops or public places difficult, both for them and their caregivers.
The Vinatier Hospital Center, together with the iMIND Center of Excellence, in partnership with Lyon 2 University, Shape Med Lyon, Humans Matter, Mengrov, and supported by Orange, launched Divercity. This initiative aims to identify and highlight places offering adapted accommodations. The goal: to create a mobile app that lists shops and public places that promote inclusion for this community, while raising awareness and supporting professionals in their efforts.
Divercity chose Wokine as its digital partner to support the development of its digital ecosystem.

– For users: Enable families and caregivers to easily locate shops and places adapted to their needs.
– For establishments: Provide a space to raise awareness, commit (through a charter), and showcase their accommodations.
– For management: Offer a back office to centralize data, view statistics, and manage the ecosystem.
To meet this project’s needs, we designed a comprehensive digital ecosystem composed of three main components:
1 – A mobile app designed for the general public, allowing users to:
– View inclusive places on a map,
– Filter and search based on preferences and sensitivities (lighting / crowding / smell / noise / signage / reception),
– Share a review or suggest a venue, without creating an account or providing identifiable data (GDPR compliant).
2 – A venue portal offering the ability to:
– Access training through awareness videos,
– Sign a commitment charter,
– Create and manage their venue profile (offered accommodations, opening hours, practical information).
3 – A Divercity back office to:
– Administer the platform,
– Manage the showcase website and registrations.
The app is not yet published, but the landing page is live.
Today, nearly 70 venues have already joined the initiative and are showcased through the platform, and the digital ecosystem is ready to scale up nationally.
